The first time I saw a Balance Bike was when my 3 year old little brother was riding his. I was amazed how quickly, steadily and confidently he rode it and more importantly, how easily he transitioned to a pedal bike without ever using training wheels! Smart Balance Bikes are often referred to as “run bikes” or “balance bikes” because of their pedal-free design. This bike does not have training wheels for the purpose of allowing children to develop coordination, balance and motor skills. Training wheels are merely a crutch that give the child a false sense of security. Smart Balance Bikes were designed to develop a child’s balance and coordination by simply allowing the child to sit and walk or run with the bike by pushing with their feet. They can go at their own pace! If the bike starts to fall, kids instinctively regain their balance using their feet.
This amazing product is intended for ages 2 and up.
