Healthy Baking: Delicious Whole Wheat Chia Seed Muffins!

This recipe is oh so yummy, and incredibly nutritious! These muffins contain Chia Seeds! Chia Seeds are high in fiber, Omega3-fatty acids, antioxidants, and minerals! They also makes you feel full! The combination of protein, fiber and the gelling action of chia seeds when mixed with liquids all contribute to their satiating effects.  Lets begin!

Delicious Whole Wheat Chia Seed Muffins

Ingredients/Supplies

 

Directions

  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Grease bottoms of muffin pan.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine all of the dry ingredients and stir well.
  4. Add remaining ingredients and stir well
  5. Fill muffin cups 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 15-20 min.
  7. Serve warm!

    Without a doubt, this is my favorite muffin recipe. I love it so much I have been making them at least twice a month for about 6 months now. For my own variation, I usually leave out half the turbinado and half of the honey (I find I don’t need them too sweet), add a huge handful of cinnamon, and do a light cinnamon sugar sprinkle on top for a crunchy crust. Plus I just started adding raw, sliced almonds on top too- delish!
