Oil Pulling: A Fancy Name For A Simple Trick! - The Snap Mom

Oil Pulling: A Fancy Name For A Simple Trick!

Oil Pulling: A Fancy Name For A Simple Trick!

I could not escape all the recent hype about “oil pulling” and became really intrigued by this foreign term. It sounded like some sort of crazy voodoo practice but after a quick search I discovered its simply the act of using an oil as a mouthwash. A little anti-climactic still exciting! I use Coconut Oil for EVERYTHING so I was pleasantly surprised it fell into one more category: mouthwash.

Oil pulling is the practice of swishing oil (organic high quality un-refined Coconut Oil, Sesame Seed Oil or Sunflower Oil) around in your mouth to draw out the bacteria & parasites that live in your mouth or lymph system, and it also pulls congestion and mucus to loosen up your sinuses! The bacteria & parasites gets dissolved in the oil while you swish, and when you spit it out you are releasing the toxins. Studies have shown it greatly reduces oral plaque, halitosis, and gingivitis. Oil pulling enthusiasts believe it treats systemic diseases by not only pulling toxins from the mouth but from the bloodstream.

Whether you believe its all-powerful or not, it is: all-natural, cheap and will improve your oral health and whiten your teeth!

  • Rinse mouth with 1 tablespoon of organic Coconut Oil for up to 20 minutes by swishing and pulling oil between teeth and around gums
  • When done, spit into trash can (can clog drain once it solidifies again)
  • Enjoy white teeth, fresh breath and a boosted immune system!
