First time mom or veteran mom, we have all seen a post like this, “Hi! WOHM here and just got a BFP. Big surprise, because we were not doing the BD! Hoping to become a SAHM this time. With my DD I FF, this time I would like to EBF. Also, I had a CS and would like to try for a VBAC this time. Open to all suggestions.”

I recall being a first time mom and actually trying to sound out some of the acronyms, thinking somehow I could understand it better. Next, I would try and guess it based on the rest of the comment. That just led to me making up the meaning for the acronym, which never turned out well. Of course, as a new mom, I could never ask another mom friend. I had to fully pretend I knew what every acronym meant. Finally, I broke down and Googled it to help me decipher the secret codes of the mommy message boards. Good news for you friend, I want to save you the time, trouble and headache of it all. I have created a list for you of the basic acronyms used on mommy message boards and in mommy groups. Don’t worry, there will not be a pop quiz at the end of this article.
