Her story is so inspiring that we were brought to tears many times while reading it! Michelle exemplifies the very meaning of a Mother. She is full of love, and lives a selfless life. I am nominating my mom, Michelle Beaudoin for your Mother’s Day giveaway, and for SNAP MOM OF THE YEAR, because she is truly the most selfless person I know.
You see, at age 45 she is not only the mother of three grown children ages 23, 19, and 17 but she is also a foster and adoptive mother to babies who have been exposed to drugs. Her daily life is busy and chaotic with four little ones ages 4.5, 4, 1, and 9 months.
[pullquote_left]My mom truly loves these children to life.[/pullquote_left] My mom truly loves these children to life. She gets these babies straight from the hospital and has to spend many, many sleepless nights as they go through horrible drug withdrawals and overall restlessness from their time in the womb. My mom’s days are filled with parental visitations, court dates, doctors appointments, speech & occupational therapies, and lots of dirty diapers. While most women her age are enjoying coffee dates, pedicures, more free time, and an empty nest, my mother is raising four more beautiful babies and giving them a new chance at life. My parents have already adopted two of the children and are currently in the process of adopting the other two this year with no plans of stopping!
My mother’s life has not been easy and she has overcome many challenges all while giving God the glory. Her strength amazes and inspires me.
When she’s not busy pouring into the lives of these babies, she is pouring into her other children and her marriage. We as a family are constantly telling her to take time for herself but she doesn’t listen much. 🙂 Her heart is for her children and she lays her life down everyday for them. Instead of having her four littles ones on the same nap schedule so she can get some peace and quiet, she purposely staggers their naps so that she can have time to love on each of them individually. To me that is such a beautiful picture of love. That is my mom, and that is her giving heart shining through.
I don’t know how she does what she does and when I ask her that question her answer is “This is what I’m called to, this is my mission field.”
My mom is not only my best friend, but she’s also my hero. I love you, mom. Happy Mother’s Day!
